Consultant BiographiesRichard Wedepohl, M.S., MBA
Richard Wedepohl is a civil engineer and water resources expert with 32 years of experience working for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). He served in several senior management positions at the DNR including, Section Chief overseeing all aspects of dam safety, floodplain and shoreland and zoning management programs, Water Resources Supervisor for the nonpoint planning unit, managing Wisconsin's nonpoint source program. For 10 years he served as the state’s Lake Management Coordinator, directing the state’s lake management protection efforts. Mr. Wedepohl has authored numerous professional articles on lake and watershed management topics. He also serves as a peer reviewer for Lake and Reservoir Management, a professional journal produced by the North American Lake Management Society (NALMS). He co-authored a guidance manual on lake and reservoir management for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and was the principal author of an EPA technical manual on lake and watershed monitoring. He is the former President of the North American Lake Management Society. He has a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a MBA in Finance from UW Madison.
