Wet Prairie, Short-Stature Mix

The short-stature version of Agrecol's wet prairie native seed mix averages 3' feet in height. The tallest wildflower species in this mix are Spotted Joe Pye and Prairie Blazing Star. It includes many pretty blue wildflowers like Bottle Gentian, Great Blue Lobelia and Monkey Flower. Look for Rattlesnake Master and several short, flowering wildflowers like Canada Anemone. In high summer, Wild Bergamot and Marsh Milkweed attract bees and butterflies.

Wet prairies typically grow in deep, rich soils that are high in organic matter. They also occur in areas where the drainage is poor or in areas that collect water from the surrounding landscape. Wet prairies can survive saturated soil conditions or ponded water for short periods of time, especially after the plants are established. This mix will grow best in full sun.
