Savannas are partially shaded plant communities. In nature this is the transitional zone between forest and grassland. Shade is often provided by trees but savanna plants are well suited for landscaping use near taller buildings. Although these plants do well in shade, they do require a few hours of direct sunlight each day.
Our savanna mix is designed for medium to dry soils and can withstand occasional periods of saturation. These sites should receive a few hours of direct sunlight a day. For fully shaded areas, please check out our
woodland mixes.
